It's a dog-eat-bird world out there

A fox has decimated our guinea hen population. We only had 10 birds but are now left with just 2 and one is being nursed back to health from a wound incurred by said fox. Birdie, the first of our flock, seems to have remained safe during the slaughter because she was brooding. She has been hiding for the past few days for the third (and last) time this year. Tending to her eggs, we rarely see her now. Lucky for her, she was the only one that remained unscathed. It's a very sad event. As loud as they are, they were always busy eating ticks on the farm and keeping us a bit entertained.

Our chickens had remained safe inside their quarters.
